KABO - class actions
KABO represents California owners of 1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car because Ford Motor Company refused to provide Ford's Repair Kit to all owners of the affected cars. The Repair Kit is designed to lessen the chances of a fuel tank fire in the event of a rear impact. The fuel tanks on these vehicles are prone to catch fire upon a high-speed impact because the fuel tank is located behind the rear axles of the vehicles. Ford provided the Repair Kits for cars used by police departments, but not to other car owners. The suit alleges that Ford is violating California's secret warranty law, which requires Ford to provide the kits to all vehicle owners, affected by the problem in California.
