Ford is planning a quick makeover on the interior of its new Explorer. The redesigned SUV went on sale just three months ago, but consumers are complaining that the interior door pulls are hard to reach. Ford had moved the handles under the armrest in an effort to garner the highest side crash test scores, but it turns out consumers feel the location makes closing the door too awkward. Ford said it will redesign the door panel to add a cupshaped gripping area to ease closing the door. Hyundai has redesigned its Santa Fe in an effort to make it a better competitor to the Ford Escape and Jeep Liberty. The new model is nearly seven inches longer than the model it replaces as well as is about two inches taller and wider. The larger size means that there is now room for a third row of seats, giving it the ability to carry seven. The third row of seats folds fl at into the fl oor to provide additional cargo space when needed.
