Laurentian University is pleased to announce that it recently purchased its first hybrid vehicle a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid - from Bélanger Ford Lincoln Centre Limited in Chelmsford . This fuel-efficient vehicle was purchased by Dr. Charles Ramcharan, a Laurentian University biology professor, on behalf of the Aquatic Research Laboratory, which is linked to the Cooperative Freshwater Ecology Unit. Reporters will have the opportunity to view the 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid, the cleanest and most fuel-efficient sports utility vehicle (SUV) ever made, and to meet Bélanger Ford Lincoln Centre Limited's staff as well as Dr. The Ford Escape Hybrid combines SUV capability, outstanding fuel efficiency and the environmental-friendliness of a full hybrid. It has a range of over 600 kilometres on a single tank and its fuel efficiency in stop-and-go city driving is impressive.
