Price - According to Automotive News, the 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid will start at $26,970, including destination, and can reach more than $33,000 for a fully optioned vehicle. The base Escape Hybrid will be about $3,300 more than a comparable V-6-powered conventional Escape. The four-wheel-drive Escape Hybrid starts at $28,595, about $3,425 more than a comparable conventional Escape.

The Ford Escape Hybrid complies with EPA's stringent new emission standards for light-duty vehicles and trucks, and according to EPA estimates, the 2-wheel drive version gets 36 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The 4-wheel drive fuel economy is estimated at 33 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
