He also used up all of Helena's fossil fuels as he traveled around "in a black Ford Excursion stretched and customized as a limousine," according to the Birmingham News.

Notification letter: Everyone who purchased a Ford Excursion fitted with the tires covered under this campaign will receive a letter from Firestone announcing the safety campaign. Every effort also will be made to identify customers who have purchased tires covered by this program as replacements for tires originally installed on their Ford Excursion in order to advise them of the campaign by mail.

The administration proposal on fuel economy regulations continues to exempt the most gas-thirsty segment of the market - vehicles weighing more than 8,500 pounds, such as the Hummer H2, the Dodge Ram 2500, and the now defunct Ford Excursion - from any standards at all. This leaves farmers, contractors and other businesses with no options to help them fight high fuel costs.
