CanadianDriver: Chicago auto show - Ford F-150 Lightning Rod
Unveiled at the 2001 Chicago Auto Show February 4th, the Ford F-150 Lightning Rod concept truck is inspired by the resurgence of rock-and-roll and the current fascination with body art, says Ed Golden, Executive Director of North American Ford Brand Design. The Lightning Rod features traditional Maori 'tatoos' embroidered in the tonneau cover, leather seats, and the tires.
Two Tone Painted Ford F-150 in Texas - Truckin Magazine
Charlie Esparza from Pasadena, Texas, built this Ford F-150 with inspiration and encouragement from well-known custom builder David Valencia, owner of Damage Incorporated in Pasadena. Charlie had been participating in shows for the past couple of years, but unfortunately was not taking home any awards. Thats when David sat Charlie down and gave him some advice and positive reinforcement. The leading edge of this 01 Ford F-150 was given a new identity by removing the original 01 front fenders, hood fascia, and grille. Gus Silvia at Custom Creations performed a complete 04 front facial featuring a Trenz grille. He then shaved down the entire body from bumper to bumper, and a sunroof was installed by Gary Sydnor at Pro Top and Trim. The smoothed tailgate houses a pair of frenched, slotted LED taillights. After a total body massage, Charlies ride was laid out in a two-tone PPG paint scheme, sprayed by Gus Salvia at Custom Creations.
Ford F-150 FX4 - Four Wheeler
There are radical trucks and then there are radical trucks. Jason and Theresa Contreras' '04 Ford F-150 FX4 is the latter. What's the difference, you ask? Well, their truck isn't radical because of visually complex paint or a ridiculous amount of lift - it's radical because it features a vast number of unique mods that combine to create a capable rig that looks great. The mods begin with an abundance of custom body modifications wrapped with eye-catching non-Ford-spec yellow paint. Then there's a vast array of custom interior and exterior tubing. Underneath is a flexy 8-inch suspension lift that retains the IFS.
