The Ford lawsuit was filed on behalf of everyone who purchased F-150s from 1995 through 2002 and Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators from 1997 through 2002. Another familys 1996 Ford F-150 caught fire in the garage, spread to the house and killed the 74-year old woman inside, and they have also sued Ford blaming the switch.

Federal investigators and Ford engineers have linked some of the fires to a cruise-control deactivation switch. They're examining why the switch, made by Texas Instruments and used on at least 10 million Ford vehicles, has caused fires on only some of those vehicles while leaving the vast majority of the other Ford models unscathed. In January, the company recalled about 740,000 2000 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator sport-utility vehicles and Ford F-150 pickups that contained the switch.

October 13, 2003 -The redesigned 2004 Ford F-150 has some changes from previous models that collision repair facilities should be aware of. Among these changes include a new repair procedure not available previously from Ford Motor Company on the F-150, different construction of the radiator core support, a new airbag system, and the use of a different type of steel construction in the instrument panel.

Chevrolet, 8-passenger van. This vehicle has been useful in transporting personnel to and from fire scenes, training new recruits and general transportation needs. Other utility vehicles include a 1997 Ford F-150 extended cab pick-up truck and a 2000 GMC 3500 1 Ton Chassis with a 6 door utility body. These vehicles will allow the division to tow the fire safe house, foam trailer, trench rescue trailer and the hazardous materials response team trailer housed at Station One. The EMS captain uses the utility vehicle during normal business hours.
