Gonzolas Flag About the middle of September, 1835, General Cos landed at Matagorda, with five hundred additional Mexican troops, and proceeded on his way to Bexar. On his arrival in Texas, active operations commenced. In 1831, the commandant at Bexar had furnished the corporation of Gonzales with a piece of artillery, to aid them in their defense against the Indians. They continued to retain it, and claimed it as a gift. The Mexicans averred that it had only been loaned. Ugartachea, wishing to disarm them of this cannon, dispatched, through the political chief of Bexar, an order for it.

Ennio Morricone is without doubt one of the most prolific composers ever, with more than five hundred scoring credits in a career that has stretched more than forty years. His work has been highly influential in Hollywood, Europe and especially in his homeland, Italy. Unbelievably he has never won an Oscar, although he has been nominated five times. His film scores have become international hits, but he is probably most universally associated with director Sergio Leone and the famous Clint Eastwood Dollar trilogy that started with A Fistful Of Dollars in 1964. To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of this groundbreaking score, BMG have re-released two of the magnificent Dollar scores and the score to Once Upon A Time In The West. Additionally BMG have also released a new compilation album, Movie Masterpieces, that celebrates forty years of Morricone magic.

The developing Texas Army at Gonzales determined to march for Bexar on the 12th of October, 1835, with a force of five hundred men, together with the notable six-pounder, from the battle of Gonzales. On that day they crossed the Guadalupe, and encamped on its western bank. Previous to Austin's arrival, the force at Gonzales had been reduced by sending off a detachment of one hundred and ten men, under the command of Captains Benjamin Fort Smith and Allen, to the protection of Victoria. Before the departure of the army from Gonzales, a popular meeting was held at that place, requesting a postponement of the assembling of the general consultation until the first of November following. This arrangement was proposed for the reason that many of the members elect were in the army, and the others were requested to join in the attack upon Bexar. Stephen F.

All new for 2005, the Ford Five Hundred is a comfortable full-size sedan that benefits from the company's relationships with at least a couple of European brands. Outside, for instance, the Five Hundred is very similar to the Volkswagen Passat because a former VW stylist heads Ford design these days. Even more significant are the ties with safety-conscious Volvo, a company now owned by Ford. In NHTSA testing, a 2005 Ford Five Hundred without side or side-curtain airbags received five stars for the driver and front passenger in a frontal crash, five stars for the front and rear occupants in a side crash, and four stars for its rollover rating.

Montego earned a good rating and "best pick" in the frontal offset test (results released earlier this year). Now this design has earned a good rating for side impact protection, though the rating applies only to Five Hundreds and twin Mercury Montegos equipped with optional side airbags with head protection. The Five Hundred without the side airbags will be tested next year when the Institute assesses the side impact crashworthiness of other large family cars.
